The Pheasant Preserve has been in operation for over 27 years. For 25 years, it operated as Vandermeer Pheasantry. Two years ago the property was purchased by three partners. Bill Vandermeer, with his expert knowledge of the birds, dogs and general farming methods, still plays a big part in the day-to-day operation of the preserve.
Two of the owners are avid upland hunters and their passion was to build a facility that surpassed anything available in Ontario.
We have 200 acres of fields groomed to provide a true challenge for both the hunters and dogs. Run-A-Fowl has Pheasants, Chukar and Huns available. You can hunt with your own canine companion or we can supply guides and dogs for those in need. Other facilities include a kennel, lunch room, 4 resident dogs. Other amenities include a 5 star Lodge with restaurant grade cooking and dining and overnight accommodations.
Trap shooting is also available on request.
A valid Ontario Outdoors Card with a Hunting Designation is required to hunt at
Run-A-Fowl.
A short list of events that have already been staged at Run-A Fowl include a Wedding, College Fund Raiser, Fausti Stefano Gun Show, Sales Meetings and Corporate Strategy Sessions.
